These are 2 very pretty pincushions I recieved in a online swap from The Quilting Board.
I am having trouble posting the pictures there. So I will post here and they can come and look at them here. The Lemoyne Star and Owl are from Marilyn and the jar is from Cajun Bear. Thanks Ladies.
I love these swaps.
This is a little square of upholstery fabric and I made a little purse. Added a label you can't see well in the right corner and a silver button.
I really like.

cute dog pincushion sews up really fast. The possibilities are endless.

Happy Mother's Day to all Mothers . I took a road trip to see my daughter today.
And will go visit my Mom in Assisted Living in a little while. A busy , but good day.
With an aging parent, the visits are sometimes stressful, the endless doctor visits
a hassle. But the  time I get to spend with my Mom is priceless. And should be so,
even more so when I know I am the only one who goes to see her and spend
a little time . One day this luxury will be gone. And I will wonder what
happened to keep me from visiting.

Hen Party

Yesterday was a good day sewing. I recieved a little hen in a pincushion swap.
She was lonely so I made a few more and we had a hen party.
The one in front on the left is the one I recieved.  I like them all
and hope they will all fly away to someone else's sewing room.

As a sewer I try and challenge myself to make new things. As for favorite things, I try to sew many.
Pincushions are a favorite of mine. A challenge to myself this year is to make a pincushion a week for a year.
I am new to blogging. And will be learning this as I post pictures and comments.
Please feel free to leave comments and suggestions. Thanks for stopping by.

This pincushion is made from a candlestand I found at a local resale shop. I love the upper lip. it is perfect for bobbins. I crosstitched a tomato on the top to hold my pins. With several sewing themed emblishments on the bottom it is one of my favorites. For a $1.00 and a little time.

Do you have any small frames? Make a standup pincushion out of an empty mini frame.Chose a favorite fun fabric and glue emblishments on the front. This was a gift for a recent swap.
